Launch NY has made its very first venture capital-style investment in a local startup – a milestone moment for the nonprofit entity that is seeking to bridge the gap between early-stage ideas and legitimate funding rounds.
Launch invested $50,000 in Rachel’s Remedy, a Z80 Labs company founded by Rachel Jackson that is rolling out its moist heat pack for breastfeeding women into several national retailers. The Launch investment, styled as a convertible loan, is part of a broader $245,000 seed round for Rachel’s Remedy as it executes growth plans and prepares to raise a more significant round later this year.
